Mark the 238th Anniversary of the Halifax Resolves, the first official call for independence from England by any American colony. Enjoy tours of historic buildings, living history activities, and a formal commemoration program with a guest speaker, followed by a reception. A reenactment group will offer living history demonstrations and weapons firing demonstrations. Activities will include:
-Tours of Historic Buildings
-Living History and Historic Weapons Demonstrations by 5th NC Regiment of Continental Line, 7th Virginia Continental Line & His Majesty's 64th Regiment on Foot
-Brunswick Stew Cook-Off, Lunch Sale & Peoples Choice Award
-Halifax Day Program at the Historic Halifax County Courthouse featuring former Secretary of the NCDCR Betty Ray McCain on the topic of William R. Davie
-Reception at Tap Room
-Permanent Wayside Exhibit featured on the Roanoke River
