Get ready for the 11th Annual Fishing Creek Paddle on Saturday, June 4, sponsored by Downtown Enfield Restoration & Preservation (DERP). The fun starts at Bellamy Mill at the dam on Fishing Creek in Enfield. Bellamy’s Mill is on the National Register of Historic Places. Besides the mill’s historic significance and natural beauty, it will also be the starting point and destination for the Paddle; the site where a complimentary picnic lunch will be served after the 2½ hour paddle ends. Entertainment for the picnic lunch will be provided by Matt Dyson and Friends.

Drop off your kayaks at the put-in, located at a pastoral farm setting, located at 13688 NC 48, Whitakers between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Then head to Bellamy’s Mill, 3626 Bellamy's Mill Road, Whitakers, for registration. Registration for the 11th Annual Enfield Fishing Creek Paddle begins at 8 a.m. Refreshments will be served during registration. Push-off is at 9:00 a.m. Beginners are welcome; it’s an easy navigation down Fishing Creek, where you will float down the creek with kayaks and canoes for 2 ½ hours. The paddlers will then enjoy a delicious lunch and will be given their complimentary American-made gift.
