Medoc Mountain Meeting Space

Should the humdrum of nine-to-five leave you with the urge to travel and explore, find a welcome tranquility at Medoc Mountain State Park, just a 1.5-hour drive from the Research Triangle.

Some of the park’s nearly 30 miles of hiking trails wander along the creek; others climb several hundred feet to the upper reaches of Medoc Mountain. Roughly ten miles of bridle trails and trailhead parking serve equestrians. The peacefulness gives the opportunity to refresh. The silence of the forest is broken only by bird songs and the occasional drumming of the pileated woodpecker. Anglers and paddlers are drawn to Fishing Creek – considered to be one of the cleanest streams in the region – that flows for about 2.5 miles through the park. Rangers offer free interpretive programs and hikes. Grab your hiking boots. Load your camera. Spend time at Medoc Mountain and let nature renew your spirit.

Medoc Mountain has nine (9) miles of multi-use mountain biking trails through rolling terrain suitable for riders of all skill levels. Mountain bike trailhead parking is available at the visitor center and riders should follow the hexagon blazes. Follow the directional signs which will veer riders clockwise during even years and counter-clockwise during odd years. The trails will close to riders if wet conditions exist so call the park or check the website before planning your trip.
