The Jo Story Senior Center is a NC Senior Center of Excellence, whose mission is “to provide services that promote wellness, encourage independence, provide transportation and social and recreational activities that enhance the quality of life for older adults.” The Center is open to anyone 55 years of age or better, no matter where you live, and seniors that live within 2 miles of the city limits of Roanoke Rapids can also be picked up to take part in their free programs including, exercise classes, weekly shopping trips, Wednesday BINGO, a library, game room, an open fitness room, computer room and knitting. Tai Chi and Yoga classes are also available for only $10/month. Stop by 701 Jackson Street and see their beautiful rockfish which encourages everyone who sees it to “Never Stop Growing”.
