River Falls Park, Weldon’s Rockfish
The first Rockfish of the Roanoke Valley Rocks public relations and public art campaign was released appropriately at River Falls Park in Weldon – The Rockfish Capital of the World. The fish was painted by artist Napoleon Hill as a realistic rockfish to pay homage to the great sportfish that returns every Spring to spawn in the waters of the Roanoke River and to put up a great fight for the anglers vying to catch them.
