Visit The Landing Zone at Sylvan Heights Bird Park in Scotland Neck, Halifax County, NC, a free-flight aviary where parakeets land on your shoulders and eat from your hands. Sylvan Height’s newest attraction offers guests the chance to interact with other exotic birds, including American Flamingos, Swainson’s Toucans, crowned pigeons and nearly 20 types of bird species. Elegant and intriguing sights and sounds challenge visitors to seek out the more than 300 birds in The Landing Zone and to experience wildlife and conservation in a natural setting.
Sylvan Heights celebrates nine years in 2015 with walk-through aviaries showcasing birds from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. The 18-acre park, with its own avian breeding center and abundant gardens, also houses one of the world’s largest collections of waterfowl, such as swans, ducks and geese.
